In re Genetically Modified Rice Litigation., 06-MD-1811 (E.D. Mo.)

McCulley McCluer filed the first class action on behalf of Mississippi rice producers after it was revealed that BayerCropScience had contaminated the rice industry with genetically modified rice.

The firm was subsequently retained by many of Mississippi’s largest producers to represent their interests in this historic litigation. Eventually all of the farmers’ federal lawsuits were combined in federal multi-district litigation in St. Louis, Missouri. After losing six trial verdicts in bellwether cases, Bayer agreed to a $750 million settlement.
